Holidays

Yes, even hard-working, conscientious and enthusiastic retailers need a break so we are closing the online store for a week starting today.

The web site is still open for business but orders will not be processed until Monday 21st September.

There will be many exciting things to come on our return. We will be introducing shipping to Europe, we will be stocking up with some of the best products from Colony, we will be adding some hand and body care products such as soap and bath bombs... not to mention we will be continuing our weekly special discounts.

New Web Site - NOW LIVE!

Finally, after weeks of hard work, the new web site is finally live.

This is a huge step forward for us as it puts the web site on a new, up to date, technical platform that will allow us to be much more responsive to customer requirements and will allow us to introduce more offers in a more timely fashion.

Additional benefits include:

• Previous orders - you will now be able to look at your previous orders allowing you to keep track of existing orders and also easily reorder product you have previously bought.
  
  
• Coupons - we will be able to issue coupons that give discounts and special offers when redeemed
  
  
• Club membership - the platform will allow us to offer club membership giving discounts and offers for members. This will be introduced early next year or even before.
  
  We have already implemented this for existing customers giving them a 10% discount for the rest of August!
  
  
• More shipping options - until now there have been no shipping options available when you ordered. Now, you will have the choice of DHL Nextday, DHL 72hrs or Royal Mail. More options may be introduced over the next few months.
  
  This feature is one that was specifically requested by customers as often there is a deadline for delivery for presents.
  
  
• Better eNewsletter Management - until now registration to our newsletter was automatic when purchasing from us and unsubscribing was only possibly by contacting us by email when we unsubscribed manually. Now, subscription and unsubscription is easily achieved yourself though the web site when logged in or via an unsubscribe link on our eNewsletters. You can opt in and out as you wish.
  
  I would just like to say that we deliberately do not send out many eNewsletters as we personally find too many email communications annoying so we try to only send them only when we have something we feel you will want to know. One a month is the very most we would expect to send but normally less than that. Until now it has been only 2-4 times a year. Now we have an easy eNewsletter system in place we will probably send more than that but if it becomes annoying please, let us know rather than just unsubscribing. We very much listen and if it annoying we will change what we do rather than have you leave the list!
  
  
• Product ratings and reviews - you can now leave your thoughts on the products and our service. Just leave a comment and rating at the bottom of the product page. You can easily get to the product page by logging in, reviewing your order where the products are links. Click on the product name and you will go to the page for that product where you can leave your thoughts.
  
  All your ideas, both complementary or otherwise, are very welcome if you think it will be useful to others. It is also useful to us and if we see a certain product is not living up to your standards then we will drop it and try to source a better alternative.
  
  
• Change your account details - you can now change all of your own account details including your username and password. This was only possible for a part of your details before so that will allow you to change email address and other account details.
  
  
• Easier search - the search box on the site now searches the whole site instead of just specific fields so just type what you are looking for and see what comes up!
  
  
• Multi-country and Multi-currency - Eventually, possibly later this year, we will introduce foreign sales. The new platform allows us to do this but we have to first put in place shipping methods that are affordable, so what out for this later this year.
  
  
• Stores unused shopping cart - if you put something in your shopping cart but don't checkout before leaving the site then when you return to the site the shopping cart will still be there waiting for you to checkout. So feel free to window shop by putting items into your cart over the course of several visits.

FINALLY we have got around to building our new web site and a beauty it is too.

An easier system for making changes to the information part of the site meaning we can keep the site more up to date with details of our business and allowing you to be more informed about our product ranges. Easier email system allowing us to keep you more informed of special offers via email. Plus a whole lot of technical improvements making the site more responsive and quicker all round.

New Esteban Candles

It has been a while since I posted to the blog so I thought I would update you on what is happening here at Fragrance Heaven.

The web site has had a face lift and that seems to have gone down very well.

We have integrated the PayPay payment method into our main payment gateway of WorldPay. This should make it easier to pay with either a credit or debit card or PayPal. Google Checkout is still an option.

We have expanded out Esteban range and over the past few week we have introduced several new fragrances.

Last year saw us introduce Shearer Candles. Shearer are a UK candle maker with a huge range f quality scented, unscented, pillar, church and dinner candles. We have introduced some of their range and depending on sales we will consider expanding the Shearer range later this year. Shearer candles sell in Waitrose and John Lewis so you can see them "in the flesh" is you like before ordering. We will always aim to be cheaper than them so if you see that we are not then please let us know.
